Ketamine ODT in Florida
A rapid-dissolving oral formulation of compounded racemic ketamine, considered when a provider determines a quick-dissolving oral route is clinically appropriate.
If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, this is an emergency. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Bravely Balanced is not an emergency service, and the candidate assessment is not a crisis intervention.
Ketamine ODT (orally dissolving tablets) dissolve rapidly on the tongue, releasing compounded racemic ketamine through the oral mucosa. They are a compounded, off-label formulation — not an FDA-approved product — and may be considered when a quick-dissolving oral option is appropriate.
Formulation and route
ODT dissolves more quickly than traditional troches, which can offer a faster-dissolving oral experience with precise, pre-formed dosing per tablet. As with all formulations here, the strength and frequency are clinician-determined.
General patient experience
ODT sits between nasal spray and troches in onset — faster dissolution than troches, with the convenience of a tablet. Temporary effects may include relaxation, mild dissociation, or changes in perception. Individual response varies, and your provider sets expectations before treatment.
Preparation and administration
Use the same at-home safety framework: a calm, private environment, no alcohol or recreational substances, a support person available, and no driving afterward. Let the tablet dissolve per your provider's instructions — do not adjust the prescribed regimen.
Safety considerations
- Take only the prescribed tablet strength and frequency.
- Report unexpected effects through the secure portal rather than self-adjusting.
- Keep a support person available during sessions.
- Attend required follow-up so your provider can monitor response and safety.
Pharmacy dispensing
Your prescription is sent to an independent licensed compounding pharmacy, which prepares and ships the tablets and bills you directly. Bravely Balanced does not operate a pharmacy or mark up medication.
Provider monitoring
Follow-up visits are required. Your provider reviews your session logs and symptom tracking, then decides whether to continue, modify, or discontinue treatment. The formulation, strength, and dose are clinical decisions — patients do not self-select them.
Important context about ketamine. Ketamine is FDA-approved as an anesthetic. The use of compounded racemic ketamine for psychiatric conditions is off-label, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved products. Compounded ketamine nasal spray is not the same as FDA-approved esketamine (Spravato®).
Treatment is not appropriate for everyone. A licensed clinician independently determines whether prescribing is appropriate. No prescription is guaranteed, and completing an assessment does not equal clinical eligibility.
