Ketamine Therapy in Florida

A clinically guided, telehealth-based approach to ketamine treatment for eligible Florida adults — beginning with psychiatric evaluation, not a prescription.

If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, this is an emergency. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Bravely Balanced is not an emergency service, and the candidate assessment is not a crisis intervention.

Bravely Balanced Wellness is a Florida telepsychiatry and psychiatric medication-management practice. For some patients, when a licensed treating provider independently determines it is clinically appropriate, compounded ketamine may be considered as part of a structured care plan. This page explains what that means, how the process works, and the safeguards that guide every decision.

What ketamine therapy is

Ketamine is a medication first approved by the FDA as an anesthetic and analgesic, used safely in medical settings for decades. In recent years, clinicians have explored ketamine for certain psychiatric conditions. When used for psychiatric purposes by Bravely Balanced, it is prescribed off-label as part of an individualized treatment plan and supplied as a compounded medication by a licensed pharmacy partner.

The goal is not a one-time intervention but a structured pathway: psychiatric evaluation, individualized treatment planning, pharmacy fulfillment, and required follow-up and monitoring.

Compounded racemic ketamine and off-label use

Bravely Balanced prescribes compounded racemic ketamine, prepared by an independent licensed compounding pharmacy. A few important distinctions:

  • Ketamine is FDA-approved as an anesthetic. Its psychiatric use is off-label.
  • Compounded medications are prepared for individual patients and are not FDA-approved finished products.
  • Compounded ketamine nasal spray is not the same as FDA-approved esketamine (Spravato), which is a different, branded product.
  • A licensed clinician independently determines whether prescribing is appropriate for you.

Conditions clinicians may consider

Providers may consider ketamine treatment for adults experiencing symptoms of conditions such as:

Being considered does not mean treatment is appropriate. Eligibility depends on your individual evaluation, safety screening, and clinical judgment.

Why psychiatric evaluation comes first

Every patient begins with a comprehensive psychiatric assessment — not a prescription. Your provider reviews your symptoms, history, current medications, and safety considerations using validated screening tools. This is what determines whether ketamine may be appropriate, whether more information is needed, or whether a different course of care would be safer.

How the Bravely Balanced process works

1. Candidate assessment

You complete a secure online assessment that helps the clinical team understand your symptoms, history, and goals.

2. Telehealth evaluation

A licensed provider reviews your assessment and conducts a telehealth evaluation. There is no automated approval.

3. Individualized treatment plan

If treatment is appropriate, your provider builds an individualized plan and, if indicated, sends a prescription to a licensed compounding pharmacy.

4. Follow-up and monitoring

Required follow-up visits monitor your response, safety, and whether treatment should continue, be adjusted, or be discontinued.

Available formulations

When clinically appropriate, compounded ketamine may be prescribed in one of several forms. The formulation, strength, dose, and frequency are clinician-determined — patients do not self-select prescriptions.

Telepsychiatry and at-home administration

Care is delivered through secure telehealth to eligible patients physically located in Florida. When a provider determines at-home treatment is appropriate, administration takes place in a safe, private environment, with clear safety guidance. Bravely Balanced does not provide IV or IM ketamine, and does not perform in-clinic ketamine administration.

Pharmacy fulfillment

Bravely Balanced does not operate a pharmacy or dispense medication. Prescriptions are sent to an independent licensed compounding pharmacy, which fills the medication and bills you directly. Medication costs are set by the pharmacy and are separate from your Bravely Balanced membership.

Support person and the first 30 days

For at-home treatment, patients are expected to have a trusted support person available and to follow a structured first-30-day safety framework. This includes preparing a calm environment, avoiding driving or operating machinery after treatment, logging each session, and completing mood and symptom tracking that your provider reviews before follow-up.

Contraindications and potential adverse effects

Ketamine may not be appropriate for patients with certain conditions, including uncontrolled high blood pressure, active psychosis, certain seizure histories, or who are pregnant or nursing. Common temporary effects may include dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, changes in perception, or feeling detached from surroundings. Your provider discusses expected effects, risks, and precautions before any treatment begins.

Emergency and crisis limitations

This program is not intended for emergency psychiatric care. If you are experiencing a crisis or thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 or call 911. Ketamine treatment and the candidate assessment are not emergency interventions.

Pricing overview

Pricing is transparent: a $99 initial evaluation (credited toward your first month if you enroll), a $199 monthly membership covering care coordination, provider oversight, follow-up visits, and monitoring, and medication billed separately by the pharmacy. There are no hidden fees and no pharmacy markups.

Statewide Florida availability

Bravely Balanced serves eligible patients throughout Florida through telehealth. Whether you are in the Panhandle, Central Florida, or South Florida, assessment, evaluation, and follow-up take place remotely — no in-person visits required. See our service areas for details.

Important context about ketamine. Ketamine is FDA-approved as an anesthetic. The use of compounded racemic ketamine for psychiatric conditions is off-label, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved products. Compounded ketamine nasal spray is not the same as FDA-approved esketamine (Spravato®).

Treatment is not appropriate for everyone. A licensed clinician independently determines whether prescribing is appropriate. No prescription is guaranteed, and completing an assessment does not equal clinical eligibility.
