Ketamine Troches in Florida

A slow-dissolving oral formulation of compounded racemic ketamine, considered when a provider determines an oral mucosal route is clinically appropriate.

If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, this is an emergency. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Bravely Balanced is not an emergency service, and the candidate assessment is not a crisis intervention.

Ketamine troches are dissolvable lozenges that release compounded racemic ketamine through the oral mucosa. They are commonly used for structured at-home treatment and are a compounded, off-label formulation — not an FDA-approved product.

Formulation and route

Troches are held in the mouth and allowed to dissolve slowly, which supports gradual absorption. Our pharmacy partner offers a variety of flavors to improve tolerability; flavoring does not affect the clinical decision about your plan.

General patient experience

Because absorption is gradual, troches tend to produce a longer, more sustained experience than faster-onset routes. You may notice relaxation, mild dissociation, or changes in perception — all typically temporary. Individual response varies, and your provider discusses expectations beforehand.

Preparation and administration

Follow the same at-home safety framework: a calm environment, no alcohol or recreational substances, a support person available, and no driving afterward. Let the troche dissolve according to your provider's instructions for your prescribed strength and frequency — do not chew, swallow whole, or adjust the dose.

Safety considerations

  • Do not exceed or shorten the prescribed regimen.
  • Contact your provider through the secure portal with any unexpected effects.
  • Keep a support person available, especially early in treatment.
  • Complete required follow-up visits so your provider can evaluate response and safety.

Pharmacy dispensing

Your prescription goes to an independent licensed compounding pharmacy, which prepares and ships the troches and bills you directly. Bravely Balanced does not operate a pharmacy or mark up medication.

Provider monitoring

Each follow-up is a fresh clinical evaluation. Your provider reviews your logs and symptom tracking and decides whether treatment should continue, be modified, or be discontinued. The formulation and dose are clinical decisions — patients do not self-select them.

Important context about ketamine. Ketamine is FDA-approved as an anesthetic. The use of compounded racemic ketamine for psychiatric conditions is off-label, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved products. Compounded ketamine nasal spray is not the same as FDA-approved esketamine (Spravato®).

Treatment is not appropriate for everyone. A licensed clinician independently determines whether prescribing is appropriate. No prescription is guaranteed, and completing an assessment does not equal clinical eligibility.
